For a Limited Time Only

Summary: Supply and demand; they’re two of the most basic driving forces behind consumerism. For thousands of years, people have fought wars to overtake limited natural resources and the addition of goods and services to that equation only upped the stakes. It’s not surprising then that things being “limited” and “in-demand” tend to be one and the same. It’s why Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte is dancing in my head and why “the McRib is back!” perks up our ears. The idea that it’s “here for a limited time” makes me curious.
